This summer we will be taking a trip with current 8th and 9th grade students to Puebla, Mexico for a week to serve alongside North Heights missionaries at Esperanze Viva orphanage. We will be helping in a construction project of building a new orphanage. This is a transformational experience where students truly come to serve and share the hope and love of Jesus!
We also offer a high school missions trip during the summer, teaming up with YWAM Mission Adventures. We alternate between domestic and international trips. We have been to places such as New Orleans, Panama, and an Indian reservation in South Dakota. On these trips, students are equipped and released to share the gospel, grow in the unique gifts God has put in them for ministry, and see God's hand at work in mighty ways!
An entry-level missions experience for 7th and 8th grade students. It’s a great opportunity to whet their appetite for missions, to be immersed in the city life and culture for a week, to get to know real people and real stories and allow God to fill their hearts with compassion. We will be working with a ministry called Urban Ventures – a ministry that has absolutely transformed the Phillips neighborhood in Minneapolis. During the day, students will serve with Urban Ventures in a summer kids program they offer to kids in the city. In addition to serving at the kids program during the day, we will have opportunities to see a bit of the Phillips neighborhood in the evenings. We’ll eat at local ethnic restaurants, attend 2 local youth groups and spend time with urban youth, and have meetings together to talk and process what God is saying to us personally. Not only will students get to experience a piece of a world outside their own, they will get to share the love of Jesus with kids and experience what living on God’s mission is like.
